Passage Family Church parishioners celebrated worshiping together in the church’s sanctuary for the first time in more than a year on Resurrection (Easter) Sunday.

The Rev. Dr. George B. Dix Jr. was emotional as he welcomed parishioners back into the four walls of the church.

“We come humbly,” Dix said. Thank you God for being back in the sanctuary. Thank you God for every precious soul.”

To ensure safety guidelines, parishioners registered to claim the seats available in the sanctuary for Sunday’s service. During the service, the church’s praise team sang inspiring songs and the prayer was given by Associate Pastor Sheila Baker-Bell.

“I was aching to see you,” Dix told parishioners. “I want you to know I love you. When I couldn’t see you, my heart hurt and longed for this moment to see you in the house of the Lord. I and Lady Michele missed you.”

Lady Michele Dix is his wife and co-founder of the church.

George Dix preached on the subject of “Where is Your Cross?”

The scripture he used was from I Corinthians 15:1-4, and he also referenced Luke 9-23-26.

Dix said Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again. After his resurrection, Dix said Jesus was seen by the 12 apostles and Paul, another known apostle.
